Cowgirls Split Sunday's Games In Durango

Durango, Colorado - The Cowgirls split Sunday's doubleheader at Fort Lewis on Sunday afternoon, dropping the opening game 4-1 before bouncing back to take the nightcap 6-2.

The Cowgirls are now 14-29 overall and 10-28 in the RMAC.

Sunday's first game saw the hosts score single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to urge the Cowgirls early lead and secure the win. Jazmyn Griego, Shaylene Saladin, Alessandra De La Trinidad each recorded multi hit games to pace the NMHU offense.

In the second game on Sunday, NMHU jumped out to a 6-0 lead after four innings and made it stand-up as they secured the win in the series finale. Heaven Medina and Karla Banegas each had a pair of RBI in the win. Jazmyn Griego earned the complete game win for the Cowgirls.

The Cowgirls close out the regular season this coming weekend as they host Regis beginning at 12:00 pm on Friday.
