Las Vegas, New Mexico - Head Coach
Lindsey Fearing announced her signing class for the upcoming season this afternoon. Coming off the program's first appearance in the RMAC Playoffs in 20 years, Fearing welcomes a class of nine new players that features three freshmen from New Mexico high schools and six transfers.
"Excited to add these nine to our roster for the 25-26 year", said Coach Fearing. "They bring with them winning careers, experience at various levels, and leadership that we were missing last year. We are excited to mesh them with our returners and look forward to continuing the success we created last year."
Brynn Hargrove 5-6 | Freshman | Point Guard | Hobbs HS | Hobbs, NM
Graduate of Hobbs High School where she was a five year letter winner for Coach Joey Carpenter…Team won State Championship in 2023…Scored 1,000 career points at Hobbs…Earned two-time All-State honors.
Nakia Mojica 5-6 | Freshman | Guard | Hobbs HS | Hobbs, NM
2025 graduate of Hobbs High School where she played for Coach Joey Carpenter…Team won State Championship in 2023…Earned All-State and All-District Honors…Scored 1,000 career points at Hobbs…Set numerous three-point records as a prep.
WynterRose Sheka 5-10 | Freshman | Guard | Tohatchi HS | Tohatchi, NM
Five year letter winner at Tohatchi High School where she played for Coach Tanisha Bitsoi…Helped lead team to a State Championship in 2023 and Runner-up in 2024…Named 3A MVP in 2025…On the Navajo Times All-Star Team for Three consecutive seasons.
Jaelyn Bates 5-6 | Junior | Guard | University of New Mexico | Albuquerque, NM
Comes to NMHU from the University of New Mexico…2022 graduate of Albuquerque's Volcano Vista High School where she played for Coach Lisa Villareal…Helped team to back-to-back state championships…Named 2019 and 2022 Female Athlete of the Year…1,000 point scorer at Volcano Vista…Earned a host of honors as a prep including All-State, All-Metro, and All-District.
Jessie Ford 5-11 | Senior | Guard | Missouri Western | Marlborough, UK
Transfers to NMHU from Missouri Western State where she played in 29 games a year ago…Represented Great Britain's National team programs in 2024 and 2025…Played at Colorado Northwestern Community College where she was named WEABL Most Improved Player.
Kimora McClure 5-5 | Junior | Guard | State Fair CC | Austin, TX
Played last two seasons for State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri…2023 graduate of Weiss High School in Pflugerville, Texas, where she was a four year letter winner for Coach Latoya Ellis…Earned 1st Team All-District and District MVP honors.
Luna Moreno 5-5 | Sophomore | Guard | Eastern Wyoming | El Paso, TX
Played last season at Eastern Wyoming College where she earned all NJCAA Region IX honors…2023 graduate of Chapin High School where she earned four varsity letters playing for Coach Eric Weaver…Helped team to District and Bi-District Championships…Earned Defensive MVP honors.
Melika Samia 5-9 | RS Sophomore | Guard | University of Portland | Hawke's Bay, NZ
Comes to NMHU from the University of Portland where she played in 23 games in 2022-23 season…Was part of the New Zealand Tall Ferns 2021 Squad... Part of the New Zealand U16 Select in 2017 and 2018... Was a Waikato U19 Representative in 2021... Was a U17 Tauranga City Representative in 2020... Was a Hawkes Bay Representative for U17 in 2018-19, U15 in 2016-17, and U13 in 2014-15... U19 National Champions in 2021... Averaged 36 points in the U17 Representative Nationals Tournament.
Hailey Long 5-11 | Senior | Forward | California Baptist | Gallup, NM Comes to NMHU from California Baptist University…scored a season's high seven points against UC San Diego…Graduate of Gallup High School where she played for Coach Todd McBroom…Talled 1,000 career points in high school…Two time NMAA 4A 1st Team All-State honors…Member of two Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI) Championship teams.
The Cowgirls open the 2025-26 season with exhibition games at Northern New Mexico on October 25th and New Mexico State on November 11th.
